Your hand glows with arcane energy as you attempt to drain magickal energy from a creature.

A creature without the Spellcasting or Innate Spellcasting feature is immune to this spell (racial features that allow you to cast spells count as Innate Spellcasting).

Make a melee spell attack against a creature. On a hit, it takes 6d8 Arcane damage and they must perform a spellcasting ability contest against your spellcasting ability. If you win, you drain a portion of Mist energy from the creature; you gain a number of spell slots that sum up to 4th Level (e.g. regain two 1st Level slots and one 2nd Level slot). Furthermore, the creature is unable to cast spells of 4th Level or lower for the duration. Also, any magickal effect on which it is concentrating automatically ends and it is

A creature can use its action to make a spellcasting ability check against your spell save DC, removing this effect on a successful check. After rolling to make this check, a creature can choose to roll with Advantage, at the cost of taking 2d8 Arcane damage as they try to force themselves to access their magickal facilities.

At Higher Levels: Both sources of Arcane damage increase by 1d8 for each spell level increase. Furthermore, all references to spell level increase by 1 for each spell level increase (for example, casting this spell at 7th Level means that you gain a number of spell slots that sum up to 6th Level and the creature is unable to cast spells of 6th Level or lower for the duration
